World Teenshop enjoys making a difference in the community. We've made "cheer baskets" for teens living in a Salvation Army shelter, and spent time laughing and sharing gifts with them. We also participated in Special Olympics as volunteer assistants. Some of our other projects have been collecting books for tots and reading to them, collecting canned goods for Tindley Temple Methodist Church's Food Program, collecting books and canned goods for fund raising activities for the African American Museum of Philadelphia.

Our College Tours have taken us to Columbia University in New York, Morgan State University in Maryland, Drexel University, University of Pennsylvania, Rosemont College and Kutztown University. In addition to visiting colleges, we've traveled to New York several times visiting the Schomburg Museum, Ground Zero, Century 21 Department Store, Canal Street, The Mosque of Malcolm X and The House of Prayer for All People. We have traveled to Baltimore to visit the Great Blacks in Wax Museum and to the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. We've also taken our teen's mothers on a trip to Lancaster, Pa. to Mother Bethel African American Methodist Church to see a play about slavery.

When I come home from a Teenshop event, I feel satisfied that I have learned something new that day. The officers inspire me and put their faith in me to succeed in my career choice.
