Teenshop workshops regularly bring teens in contact with positive role models who are on the road to success. Miss Black Pennsylvania, Shanay Ball came wearing her victory sash, and shared her experience as a beauty pageant contestant. Ms. Ball, who is a college graduate pursuing a master's degree, stressed the importance of getting a good education to serve as the foundation for future success. For the Teens Take Over workshop, we planned a Fashion Show, which included a hot menu, DJ, commentator, program brochure, and stunning outfits. We were truly the Divas of Tomorrow. Watch out Tyra Banks!

We participated in the ConKerr Cancer Pillow Project which was started several years ago by Cindy Kerr. When her son Ryan was diagnosed with cancer, Ms. Kerr started making pillows to help make him more comfortable during his treatments at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She then expanded her efforts to help other children, and it is now national in scope. We made dozens of fun and interesting pillow cases using a tie and knot method.

I want to give thanks to Teenshop for being there for me and broadening my horizons to new things, such as using proper etiquette, self-respect, how to prepare for the SAT, and how to prepare for college. I feel that without the officers and the girls of Teenshop on my side, I would not have been as strong as I am today.
